Not All Heroes Wear Caps: FREE Weed & TP
April 13, 2020 0 comments
We’ve heard it before - not all heroes wear caps - right?
That being said, Vice Magazine was able to get the inside scoop as to why this magnificent human is doing what he’s doing.
What we found so interesting about OUTLAW is that he is constantly making a difference in the most unorthodox ways - making him sort of a mythical figure in the city; a new-aged Robin Hood if you will.
Last summer, in the Piccadilly Gardens, OUTLAW awed Manchester Police when he displayed a banner stating “FREE BUD” and proceeded to hang a small bag of weed to every person who walked past him.
Then, last December, OUTLAW was arrested after handing out holiday cards with cash in them to the homeless community wearing a black balaclava.
What we are more curious about is why the police would arrest someone handing out cash to help the homeless? Manchester Police - we have questions!
But regardless, these unforgettable stunts he’s pulled over the past year have helped maintain his unique activist intentions.
Since then, OUTLAW has shifted his philanthropic efforts towards the current Covid-19 crisis. Simon Doherty, writer for Vice, got on a phone call with him to get the inside scoop. You can read the full Q&A here.
One thing that instantly popped into my mind is: “How much money did he spend on giving out free weed?” OUTLAW answered this question simply - he grows his own - and according to him, it’s how he’s able to do what he does.
As for the toilet paper, this money came out of his own pocket. He states that he tried teaming up with grocery stores but no one was willing. Instead, he bought the toilet paper on his own and started handing them out.
(We could have used him here in LA about a week ago, the toilet paper shelves at the stores have been cleaned the f*ck out!)
He’s definitely got a new approach to helping out the community, I think we need some more people like this in the US, don’t you? Remember, not all heroes wear caps!
Thanks OUTLAW for offering some positive news and spreading some good vibes during this tough time.
WE APPRECIATE YOU!
